About Ngu Shwe Li

About Ngu Shwe Li
This farm is located in Pyin Oo Lwin, close to the MCG factory. Its altitude is 1,073 meters above sea level and occupies an area of approximately 200 hectares. It has been producing coffee of the SL-34 and S-795 varieties since 1997.
Its owner is Mr. Kyaw Sein, who helped MCG to grow in its early days, becoming one of its shareholders.
In 2014, this farm was certified by the WORLD FOOD FEDERATION, which classifies it as an example to be followed by the coffee harvesting and treatment rules that are carried out on it.

Pyin Oo Lwin, formerly and colloquially known as Maymyo, is a picturesque town of 255,000 inhabitants that stretches along a hill in the cold mountains of the centre of the country. Pyin Oo Lwin was part of the Shan State, but it became part of the Mandalay region, along with Mogok, as soon as independence was achieved.
Pyin Oo Lwin has been known as the City of Coffee for some years, as the number of companies dedicated to cultivation and roasting has grown rapidly. This has favoured the establishment of larger and better organized farms that sell their products around the world.
The size of the farms in Pyin Oo Lwin is not homogeneous and, if we compare it with that of the Ywangan farms, they are generally larger. Usually they are not dedicated exclusively to the cultivation of coffee, as we can also find pitahaya, strawberries, citruses, avocado and macadamia.
